Zee TV's school drama 'Hip Hip Hurray!' enjoyed cult following when it was first aired in the '90s. Revolving around a motley bunch of school kids and their dreams, aspirations and emotions, the series launched a lot of new faces which are established names in Indian entertainment. These include Bhoomika Chawla, Shweta Salve and Peeya Rai Chaudhury.
The last year of school is special and everyone cherishes it for the rest of one's life. 'Hip Hip Hurray!' opens on the first day of the new academic year at D'Nobili High School - the day is also the first day of the last year in school for Class 12 students. The episodes takes you through the year spent by an exciting bunch of teenagers - a year during which they fall in love, and suffer heart-breaks, have problems with their teachers and parents, experience pressures at exam time and so on. Their trials and tribulations are captured poignantly and with rare sensitivity.

It is the first day of the new academic year and the last year for the Class 12 at D'Nobili High School. Alisha is a new joinee at the school. She has airs about her and generally behaves rudely with everyone in the class. Apparently, Alisha is sore about the fact that her parents have admitted her to D'Nobili against her wishes and has vowed to get expelled as soon as she can.
Alisha's rude behavior in the class makes her unpopular and everyone teases her. John has a huge crush on Alaknanda, his beautiful teacher. Alisha overhears a conversation between her parents and teachers. She learns something that makes her look at her parents in an altogether new light.
It's Cyrus' birthday and the gang is celebrating it while avoiding Alisha. Alisha feels sorry about her behavior and apologises to everyone for being rude. John and Cyrus set a condition before Alisha if she wants their forgiveness.
Everyone in the class plays a prank with the Hindi professor and, in return, they get punishment from Vincent Sir. Mazhar has started working as a waiter. Kiran feels ashamed about Muzhar's job and creates havoc at the hotel where he works. Manjeet has a tiff with his father.
Kiran insults Mazhar. Meanwhile, two goons blackmail Manjeet. Meera learns of this and questions Manjeet. Mazhar is upset because of the way his classmates treat his waiting job. Everyone in the class plays a trick with Mazhar and Kiran.
Money belonging to Samantha and Mona gets stolen. Simultaneously, Meera treats the entire gang to ice-creams. Everyone suspects Meera for having stolen the money. Is Meera really gulity? Or is it someone else who is committing these petty thefts?
It's raining and the gang decides to bunk their art class and play football. They manage to hoodwink their art teacher. Later, while playing football, they come across their peon Bholu's little kid. The kid does not go to school because of Bholu has no meney to pay for his education. What will the gang do to help the kid?
Bholu finds a cigarette dumped by Manjeet. The gang schemes a plan to identify the thief. Guess what? They succeed in identifying the theif. So how did this happen? Who is the culprit?
The gang avoids Manjeet and blames him as the crook. Manjeet feels disheartened. Later, he faints and is admitted to the hospital. As per the doctors advise, Manjeet is admitted in a rehabilitation center.
The Junior basket ball tournament is round the corner. Raghav being the sports captain is training the junior team. Raghav schedules very rigorous training sessions. He falls out of the good books of everyone including his team, classmates and teachers.
