Based on Jane Austen's classic novel, Sense And Sensiblity, 'Kandukondein Kandukondein' revolves around the trials and tribulations in the life of two sisters. Soumya (Tabu) is mature and practical, while Meenakshi (Aishwarya Rai) lives in her own dreamy and poetic world. Soumya is considered unlucky because every boy who has come to see her for marriage has suffered some mishap or the other. As a result, she has remained unmarried till date. On the other hand, Meenu dreams of being with a person who will come and sweep her off her feet by rendering Bhartiyar’s poetry. As the story progresses, the sisters do come across men of their liking. But will their love succeed? A sudden turn of events forces them to take decisions against their will. What happens next?
