Mariam, her husband and her daughter are getting ready to go to an engagement ceremony. As revellers celebrate the 'mehndi' ritual, Mariam's married daughter reaches the event with her in-laws. Hassan, Mariam's son, who is engaged for over two years, sets his eyes on Shafa, the brides best friend. Shafa loves Musaf who is unemployed, but loves her nonetheless. Shafa comes from a humble background and lives with her four sisters and parents. Hassan manages to get all the information about Shafa and starts avoiding his fiance, Nidaa.

Shafa's mother is frustrated with her five daughters and thinks of them as burdens. While she is bickering with them, they receive a bouquet of flowers addressed to Shafa. After Shafa comes home, she is irritated by the bouquet that she has received. Shafa's father, Prof. Jamil, is worried about the future of her daughters and shares his concern with Shafa. Hassan requests Nidaa to break the engagement. Nidaa is crestfallen and breaks down in front of his sister-in-law who is also Hassan's sister. Hassan is relentless in his pursuit to get Shafa in his life and even manages to impress Prof. Jamil who invites him for tea.

Shafa's mother pesters her daughters to make tea for Prof. Jamil's guest who is actually Hassan.She sends Shafa with the tea tray. Nidaa's parents learn that Hassan has decided to break the engagement. An aggrieved Shahzeb spurns Parivash. Mariam and Abbas try and make Hassan understand the consequnces of his drastic step. Mariam requests Nudrat, Nidaa's mother, to forgive and trust them. Nidaa interrupts the conversation to break the engagement. Shahzeb's father Khalid talks to him about not disrespecting Parivash for Hassan's sake. Khalid talks to Abbas about Hassan's decision. Hassan tries to commit suicide - an act that forces Mariam to oblige to his decision to marry Shafa.

Mariam visits Shafa's home and meets her mother Zubeida. She puts forth Hassan's marriage proposal to Zubeida who is overjoyed. Mariam is worried about Parivash and calls her, but Shazeb takes the call and warns them of his ability to ruin Parivash's life. Prof. Jamil tries to judge Shafa's mindset regarding the proposal, but she refuses. Shafa talks to Musa about their marriage and is forced to give him an ultimatum. Musa reaches Shafa's house late in the evening to ask for her hand in marriage. Prof. Jamil, who recognizes him as his nephew, is unable to forget the bitter past that had soured the relations between Musa's father and him. Will Prof. Jamil agree to Musa's proposal?

Zubeida holds Prof. Jamil responsible for educating the daughters to an extent that caused them misery. Shafa yields to the circumstances and agrees to marry Hassan. Hassan is very happy and thanks Mariam for making his dreams come true. Nidaa comes to learn of Hassan's marriage. As Zubeida and her daughters prepare for Shafa's marriage, Shafa is disheartened. Sheena tries to make Shafa understand and get her dressed for her wedding. On his wedding night, Hassan learns that their marriage is an obligation. He chooses not to consummate their marriage.

Abbas finds that Hassan slept all the night in the hall. Hassan speaks out that Shafa is not happy with the marriage and she does not love him. Abbas soothes his son. Parivash’s in-laws treat her very badly and hold her liable for Nidaa’s situation. Shafaa’s family misses her presence in the house. Hassan’s friend consoles him about his marriage problems. On the other hand, Hassan’s mother asks Shafaa to share her problems with her. Soon they find that Shahzeb brings Parivash to their place. He is however not interested in holding on to the relationship.

Abbas reprimands Mariam when he comes to know about Parivash. Parivash calls Shahzeb to know about her child. Abbas advises Shahzeb to call Parivash back home. Shafaa’s father drops in to meet Shafaa. Sheena meets Musaf on her way for an interview. Shafaa warns Musaf from keeping in touch with her. Hassan’s father feels odd when Musaf calls up. Mariam convinces Parivash that she should go back to her husbands’ house without holding any ego. Will Parivash heed her?

Mariam leaves Parivash at her home and comes back. Khalid comes to meet Abbas in the office to rupture the business deal. Abbas thanks him for accepting his daughter back in his life. Musaf again calls Shafaa. Mariam asks Shafaa about her relationship with Musaf and promises to be with her in any decision she takes. Shafaa makes up her mind to start a new life with Hassan and is very happy.

Nidaa feels bad for Parivash and portends her brother not to behave impolitely with her. Nidaa thinks of apologizing Hassan's family but her mother stops her. Shafaa and Hassan go out for lunch. Shafaa urges to go at her parents place, but Hassan repudiates and leaves her alone. Musaf meets Sheena. Shafaa explains Sheena not to get carried away with Musaf's problem Shafaa's parents get worried when Mariam comes to pick Shafaa instead of Hassan

Shahzeb's father asks his mother to allow Shazeb to take his own decisions in life. Shahzeb thanks Nidaa and his father for helping him in setting up his marriage again. Shazeb apologizes in front of Parivash. Hassan tells his parents that he wants to give divorce to Shafaa. Will the divorce happen?
