The critically-acclaimed 'Khuda Kay Liye' is the biggest hit in Pakistan ever. Directed by Shoaib Mansoor, the film has won many awards including that for the Best Picture at the 31st Cairo International Film Festival.
'Khuda Kay Liye' centers around the dificult situation in which Muslims, especially the Pakistanis, are caught up in since 9/11. The ongoing war between Islamic hardliners and the liberals is creating a rift not only between the Western world and the Muslims, but also within the Muslim community. The educated Muslims are in a difficult situation because of their approach towards life and their western attire. While they are criticized and harassed by the fundamentalists on the one hand, the Western world sees them as potential suspects of terrorism just because of their Muslim names, on the other. This paradox, which results in great suffering for the forward-looking Muslims, forms the theme of 'Khuda Kay Liye'.
