Karan Singh lives a royal wealthy life alongwith his mother (Rani Maa), and other relatives. Rani Maa doesn’t really care for her son and keeps herself busy in gambling (playing cards), so Karan Singh lives under the motherly love of his nanny. Due to family ignorance and lack of love Karan spoils his character by becoming womanish and alchoholic. Fortunately he meets Lata (Hema Malini), a former air hostess, a self-dependent lady, who is being molested by her to-be boss. They eventually fall in love symbolizing it through their palace ‘Prem Nagar.’She encourages him to change his bad habits, initially meets a lot of opposition but finally succeeds.
